View dates for Advance Steel Training Classes here. Fixed an issue that caused objects not used for numbering to receive a prefix on second numbering. Fixed an issue with the Bolt Cage connection that was not properly translated to non-English languages. Added records for the Bolt Cages joint for the US installation. Using a poly-line as reference for the contour notch feature will now produce the correct result on mirrored plates.
Fixed a bug related to the incorrect creation of the Wallrail joint, created on a 3D polyline having a vertical segment. Bolts created by the Turnbuckle Bracing connection will no longer invert when switching the tab plate to use "End" location. Bolts, anchors, and shear stud patterns will now correctly split when using the "Split beam" command on the element to which they belong. Corrected a situation where a bolt pattern created by the Platform Plate connection, had a different orientation than the rest of the bolt patterns.
Corrected a situation where the Base Plate connection was no longer updating its geometry when changing the parameters in the connection properties dialog. Corrected a situation where the Gusset Plate in Center connection would incorrectly cut the entire body of the input brace element.
Corrected an issue where the Bolt Diameter value was not updating inside the connection properties dialog, for "Bracing I splice plates simple" and "Bracing I splice plates additional object" connections. Corrected the Alpha b calculation for the Shear Plate connection when the Bottom cope is set to "Cut and flush". Enabled multi-edit capabilities for the camera view-port settings.
Fixed a crash that could appear when closing the model project. Fixed an issue for the Railing - Handrails macro that caused the entire beam to be cut by the shorten when changing the distance between posts from "Post layout" tab, in case of poly beams. Fixed an issue for the Single Brace Tube connection that caused the "Cut back" value to not be in accordance to the dialog, when brace T was made from plates and the brace was not perpendicular to the main element.
Fixed an issue for the Turnbuckle Direct Bolted connection that occurred when the flat profile was used as input. Fixed an issue that caused the impossibility to edit the material for the seat plate created by the Embed Beam Seat connection. Fixed an issue that shows the bolts created by the Clip Angle connections as Shop Drill in the bolt properties dialog while the setting from the connection was In Site.
Fixed an issue that was preventing the "Cut plate at another plate" to provide the correct cut contour when the plate to be cut was mirrored. Fixed an issue that caused the "Free remark" attribute on special parts to not update when controlling it from a steel connection.
Fixed the Omega profile geometrical definitions in the default delivered content. Fixed the incorrect placement of the "Running Dimension" symbol on drawings of beams with multiple cuts on the same end. Fixed the result of explode to 3D solids for twisted poly beams created by the railing macro. Fixed the result of exploding folded plates to 3D solids by addressing the situation where the folded plate relation creates a corner not connected to the main folded plate element.
Improved the Model Browser to correctly show information about assemblies that were created using a numbering method that dictates a number in front of the prefix. Improved the "Tube connection with sandwich plates" in order to be able to assign independent thicknesses to the stiffener and gusset plate. Improved the numbering consistency when using the Special Part Template option. Solved a database error on the Australian installation which would restrict the use of customized Quick Connection rules.
Solved an issue for the Spiral Stair macro that blocked the calculation of the Hole in Tread when using a flat section post. Solved an issue that caused the explode to solid of a shear stud to explode to lines when the head height was 0. Solved an issue that manifested by the impossibility of reading loads from the node for the connections where the main input beams were continuous.
Fixed the way the thickness is displayed in the NC file name for folded plates with thickness values lower than 10mm. Corrected an issue where the Profile Name was no longer displayed in the Advance Steel Properties dialog after the profile was modified by the synchronizing changes coming from Revit. Corrected the IFC import functionality in Advance Steel so that opening features present on walls would cut through entire wall thickness.
Fixed an issue for the KISS export which manifested by losing the drawing number after renaming the drawing number to contain letters. Fixed an issue where the grid labels were lost when transferring the model from Revit using the smlx format.
Autodesk advance steel 2020 whats new free download -
Hi, Advance Steel now available. Here a list of what is new, besides other news and enhancements: - Propagation of steel connections. We'll take what we can get At the very least a "freeze command for release drawings and some kind of User created folder arrangement for organizing larger projects - not the "oh just explode or deregister the drawing when finishedAnd lets not forget the incredible usefulness of the UNKNOWN FOLDER.
The doc manager is supposed to be the "One Stop Shop for Advance Steel Output coordination" Bring it up to world class standards like so many of the other components of Advance Steel already are! We all know that the Advance Steel modeling environment is the easiest use and the most flexible in the industry.
We need several yearly updates that actually introduce features! Well, if you want something more to happen, you do not hide for one entire year and show on the release date. Keep posting. Sending section views, elevations and plans to a new dwg or to existing dwg to be numbered similar to section views when they are done in the same dwg.
Running processes does not allow us to have E1, E2 dwgs if we have Mp dwgs 1 and 2. This should work same way as the dwg styles work. We have to number dwgs per customers' standards. Document manager-added to the written above-output selected external lists-plot them to a destination folder all at once, not one by one.
Currently what a shame if we change the thickness of one cap plate, and size of a clip angle, and the number of bolts in only one bolt pattern we have to do the external lists manually one by one.
The funny part here is we can "update" lists from DM, but we cannot print them from DM same way we print all documents.
Revising model dwgs is taking less time than doing the external lists. I don't even know what to say anymore. Did you guys only work on this for a few months? Cause this is sad if this is the best you can do in 12 months.
While I appreciate the effort and the time that the developers put into these releases, in previous years we got a new release in April and in October a full service pack with additional goodies, plus a couple of patches. In we got a patch after a relatively disappointing release. Now that Autodesk have removed perpetual licensing users are committed to paying subscriptions to use the program and the developers can throw scraps at us.
If I wasn't on my phone I would have lots to say. Any programmers out there read this stuff? Want to make some money? I did a more extensive review of the changes implemented in AS and I jumped the gun on this one. I see you guys did quite a bit of bug fixes and improvements and that's exactly what I asked for. So I apologies for criticizing so quickly. One of them said a few years ago about labels moving and dimensions being not stable: "I thought these were fixed".
Or a decent AB macro. Or having a token for the elevation of the middle point of the camera when creating a floor plan-Floor plan at Elevation X'-X", simple. They need to focus their resources in the right areas. IMO they have not. I agree also, In no way do I blame the Dev's even though it sounds like I do. Im the one who creates our styles and processes and its a headache to deal with, I can only imagine the coding behind the curtain.
Management needs to change because most of is bug fixes, this should have been released as a hot fixe and not relabeled as 'new content'. Now I hear that the railing macros are broken so we can only imagine how long it will take management to release a fix. Heck, we might be waiting till for this to be released as new content again. That being said, I am about to revamp our Styles and processes to increase efficiency and reduce clean up time.
Has anyone transferred to yet, and how did the rules transfer over? Im skeptical to leave because we understand all the problems it creates and I'm worried about new problems in Hi Guys, I gave up on this software a year and a half ago for quite a few reasons, but the worst offender was the fact that the dialog windows couldn't be resized, and you couldn't read the text.
Not to mention the document manager window never remembered it's layout settings, so every time you used it you had to drag it to a viewable size, very basic stuff which to me, made it little more than a beta. So, in your opinions, has the program actually got past beta yet? Any changes on "special parts". Advance Steel Forum. Share your knowledge, ask questions, and explore popular Advance Steel topics.

Look at all of the work that Tekla has put into their doc manager and you'll see what I mean. Stop milking your loyal customers to death Regards Craig. Tags 1. Tags: Advance Steel Message 6 of Stop milking your loyal customers to death Regards Craig bukko Well, if you want something more to happen, you do not hide for one entire year and show on the release date. Missed your input. Message 7 of You are correct I must find the time to post here because there are things that need to be corrected.
We need to keep bringing up these issues until they are acted upon by Autodesk. Message 8 of I will give credit to the devs, I know they work hard, it is just Revit taking most of the time.
What I want to see improved: 1. Sending section views, elevations and plans to a new dwg or to existing dwg to be numbered similar to section views when they are done in the same dwg 2. Message 9 of Message 10 of Let's have a look at the enhancements. Message 11 of Message 12 of Message 13 of Anonymous Hi Stephen, Agree. I will give credit to devs due to the fact they work simultaneously on two packages.
If we will have to blame someone-he or she is not visiting this forum. How difficult or time consuming is to improve these? It is a large corporation hard to work with.
Message 14 of Yes there have been some minor improvements Doc Manager is the weakest link!
